About the team

You will be part of the group wide Business Development function across Australia and New Zealand, designed to optimise opportunities for Kennards Hire and make our customers job easy and creating raving fans, by providing them with the solutions they need, when and where they need them.

We have two opportunities available for a sales savvy professional who is driven, self-motivated and strives for success. As the BDM, you will be solution focused and managing the Sydney area

About the Job

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and developing new revenue opportunities and building relationships with existing and new accounts.

You will be dealing directly with our customers and providing solutions to their equipment hire needs. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Implement objectives and strategies ensuring the development of relationships and growth in both sales and profit
  • Develop formal pipeline through a territory/portfolio plan
  • Effectively manage relationships and business objectives with key accounts through the development and implementation of strategic call planning
  • Assist with the development monthly sales forecasts/pipelines
  • Providing excellent customer service in all interactions, including instruction, advice and selling of equipment range over the phone and face-to-face

About you

You will be a highly motivated and target focused with the drive and passion to successfully identify, negotiate and win business opportunities. Specifically, you will have;

  • A proven track record in meeting targets and building rapport with high level stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of business and marketing planning, financial acumen, strategic influencing, commercial negotiation and judgement
  • High-level Presentation Skills - Quantitative and qualitative report writing, bid and presentation preparation, tender preparation
  • Strong communication skills and an exceptional ability to build and retain relationships
