About the role


The In House Contract Lawyer has responsibility for working in the best interests of Kennards Hire.


The in-house legal function is primarily responsible for:

  • Advising on day to day legal issues that arise in the organisation particularly contractual matters and managing the risk and compliance functions of the business.
  • Escalating the debt collection process when legal proceedings are required, managing the process through to resolution
  • Ensuring that Kennards Hire complies with the law and establishes strong corporate governance and legal compliance processes and procedures
  • Undertaking appropriate education of business stakeholders in respect of contracts, risk and compliance only

About you


You will be an self driven, solution and results focused In house Contract Lawyer from a solid Compliance and Commercial law background and possess the following attributes:

  • Tertiary qualifications – Bachelor of Law and hold a current practising certificate
  • Five years post admission experience in commercial law
  • Experience in drafting legal documents and contracts with a emphasis is compliance
  • Working knowledge of PPSA
  • Proven conceptual and analytical skills and the capacity to develop and effectively implement solutions for a range of complex issues
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills including stakeholder management and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and manage competing priorities and stakeholders
